The Loon Count sponsored by the Maine Audubon Society occurs on the third Saturday of July from 7am to 7:30am.  The North Pond Association works in partnership with the Audubon Society. This year the date was July 20 and the weather was sunny and warm. There were 12 adult loons sighted in North Pond and 1 in Little Pond. This is the exact same count as reported in 2023. Last year one baby loon was sighted but not during the official count. This year two baby loons were sighted with two adult loons nearby. It wasn't during the official count but exciting to know young loons were seen.  Below is a picture of the baby loon taken by Samuel Gaspar in 2023.                    Thank you to everyone for caring and volunteering another year.
